Hair Perfume & Mist Is a Real Thing. I Tried Toni Braxton’s Nude Sugar…It’s a Mixed Bag

If you feel like you are the only one who hasn’t heard about hair perfume or hair mist, let me assure you, you are not. I recently discovered that perfume is not just for the body anymore; many companies have created hair perfume or mist lines to prove that. What is Hair Mist? Not to be confused with dry shampoo, hair mist is a fragrance designed for use on the hair and scalp. It avoids ingredients that can make hair dry or frizzy and instead consists of ingredients that nourish, condition, add shine, and mask odor. It can be applied at the end of your hair routine or to refresh your hair between washes. Most hair perfumes contain only traces of alcohol, are primarily water-based, and are infused with botanical oils that enhance shine and softness. The Product: Nude Sugar Toni Braxton’s hair mist from her Nude Sugar line is made for natural and synthetic hair. It smells like warm sugar cookies with fresh vanilla sprinkled on top. Nude Sugar is available at Ulta for $18.00 for a 2oz bottle. I had read a few mixed reviews, so I had to find out if the seven-time Grammy award winner also created a winning hair mist. According to interviews, the Nude Sugar line was in the works for two years while Toni searched for the “right potion” that could help with her challenges as a 53-year-old African American woman, such as hyperpigmentation and light spots. While the hair mist is only for hair, Nude Sugar’s product line includes other introductory products for the body, including two body creams, a body serum, shower gel, body lotion, and body mist to address those challenges. What I Like The mist sprayed evenly, allowing me to use a small amount and still get a lot of coverage. It left my hair feeling more coated than hydrated but still soft. Perfect for light touch-ups throughout the week or day. What’s Worth Noting Sweet, vanilla scent. You may want to pass on this if you are sensitive to sweet smells. MC
